Golden Razor Blade HARD:LINE is an audience festival. In our festival, the jury for Méliès D'Argent (best European fantastic short film) and the audience decide the fate of a film! You can vote on each film and express your opinion. This is not only exciting for us as a festival and for the filmmakers and distributors, but also gives an interesting insight into the extreme film culture. It shows what goes down well and which topics meet with rejection. But don't worry: We know that opinions differ and that we have to, want to and will cover the entire spectrum of extreme cinema. We will not degenerate into a festival for splatter comedies (even if we love the parts), but will continue to program the most exciting and also most extravagant contributions of the year. The opening and closing films, as well as older titles from the Directors Spotlight, will be screened out of competition in the audience vote.

Public favourite 2020

HARD:LINE Audience Favorite 2020, Dinner in America 2020 was a modest year. At least until you came to Regensburg from all over the country to join us for five days of "cinema extreme" at its best. And those who couldn't be there at least had the chance to watch the films online. However, the votes for the audience's favourite were only counted by those who followed the concentrated programme in the cathedral city. 50 season ticket holders saw 29 films, 24 of which celebrated at least their German premiere. There was everything from nostalgic splatter to intellectual mourning to atmospheric horror. Some tasted better to the majority of those present, some less so. But see for yourself: Here's how you voted.

HARD:LINE Public favourite 2019, Achoura What was that year? We had 32 films from 16 countries in our programme, which was more varied and diverse than ever before. That doesn't make it easy for the audience either. But it decided... and how! The first Moroccan horror film of all times raced past the leading DER LETZTE MIETER at the last second to take first place. For the first time, the winner of the Audience Award received a trophy. The Silver Razor Blade went to the best short film, while the Golden Razor Blade for the best feature film was accepted personally by Talal Selhami.
